Growatt launches globally advanced battery for energy storage applications

Growatt has announced the launch of a one-fits-all APX HV battery, incorporating innovations in performance, operation, protection and installation.

Integrated with novel soft-switching parallel connection technology, the new product delivers more energy by eliminating the effect of mismatch between packs, enabling each module to fully charge and discharge independently. In addition, it offers greater flexibility for installation and expansion with batteries of varied State of Charge (SoC) and from different new batches, ultimately saving on O&M and supply chain costs, while featuring a redundancy design preventing system shut-down due to a defective pack.

“To ensure the ultimate safety of the APX HV battery system, we apply five levels of comprehensive protection in the product,” commented Lisa Zhang, Growatt vice president of marketing. “Protection includes an active Battery Management System (BMS) for each cell, a pack-level energy optimizer and built-in aerosol fire protection for each module, an arc-fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) and a replaceable fuse for the whole system.”

The APX HV system has an IP66 protection rating and smart self-heating technology to enable operation outdoors to a temperature of -10℃.

“With two clusters enabling a maximum parallel expansion to 60kWh of electricity, the battery is compatible with our single-phase, split-phase and three-phase battery-ready inverters, including the MIN 2500-6000TL-XHMIN 3000-11400TL-XH-US and MOD 3-10KTL3-XH models for residential applications and our MID 12-30KTL3-XH model for commercial use,” Zhang added.
